A Country with a potential to grow further

When I went to Vietnam, I became aware that Its plans for the future would to developp in a powerhouse economicly.

It had been shown with the atmosphere of its capital, Hanoi as when I first arrived, I could see multiple people traveling on Bycycles or mottos with so many goods towards Hanoi to sell.
I got concerned that they might have accidents on the way.
It was start of the many times I will feel impressed when it comes to this city during my stay of three months.

Reason for going and staying in Vietnam

I actually went to Vietnam two times: the first time was to stay for a night at a hotel with my Dad to reach Thailand the next day. The last was one where I stayed for two or three months both as a tourist and to gain experience when it comes to working in an office. it was something that Dad thought about and I was happy about it. I went on my second trip with Mum first but she left earlier, so I had to go back to England myself. We both enjoyed it.

Place to stay

I had a goodish hotel to stay near Hoàn Kiếm Lake. When I say goodish, I mean that despite the fact that it had damp issues along with unwanted visitors, it was a good place to stay, even if I had to change rooms. Speaking of unwanted visitors, Meet Bob, the coakcroach. We found him on one of our first nights at the hotel. Luckily, he had been a good visitor as he had been expelled on the premicies soon after.

Good food nearby

Other than unexpected residents in our apartment, there was a restaurant nearby where the food was deliscious and another place was one where they made fruity drinks that I had to frequent during my stay. However, I was warned to not buy or eat food from the foodstalls as I may get sick. The restaurant I used to eat my lunch was going by the name of Belle Maison. It acted as a hotel as well but I stayed in a different hotel nearby. There was a food store that I frequented to get myself snack for the evening. Though I also remembered a nice Juice bar tha was on the west side of the Lake. Not a bar for alcohol but litterally a bar wher they made their own freshly prepared fruit juices. Mum and I Loved that place. A shame that I can't seem to remember the name of it. 

Hoàn Kiếm Lake

The Hoàn Kiếm Lake that I was staying by was important to their mythology due to the Myth of one of the Vietnamese emperor briging back a magical sword, used to defend the country from old China, to a messenger of local deity that took the shape of a turtle. In the three months I stayed nearby, the evenings never stopped busy with activity as many people danced, performed Yoga Lessons as well as many other sports. Since it was between Sptember and december, It might have stumbled upon a time of celebrations. I didn't participate much in them but these moments stayed as pleasant memories in my mind.

Of course, The Lake is not the only acttraction nearby as if you take the time to walk a couple of streets away, You would find other temples along with Museum.

Museum Nearby

There are multiple places linked to their culture if you take 30 or a hour to travel by foot. One happened to be a small of Confussius, The Philosopher that greatly influenced China.

But Phylosophy is not the only subject that the country is known for as its history and Mythology is as important. We actually a few museums that explained to us that history of their military, especially of battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954 with the capture of a huge french military base that occured by digging a path through treacherous mountains in the indochina war.

A trip whithin a trip

One trip My mum and I did in Vietnam was a stay near the sea where I have been informed that local worshiped a minor water god for safe travel along with good harvest for fishermans.

Now, In all this, I don't believe that I told you the other reason of my stay. 
Well, As it happens, I was in an internship to learn about the work involve with a company called 'SSI Asset Management Co Ltd'. 
The people were very nice with me as they gave me my tasks.
The tasks that I was involved in were researches on Platforms related to Fintech companies. Fintech in the use of Technology to study Finance and use the data to help their investors' investments. 

The way I organised myself was: I research on the companies related to the subject in Vietnam and Other countries throughout the week and during my evenings to the weekend, I will fill a summary of my findings in a report, which my next week's researches follows the trails or data that I implemented in it.
I enjoyed my work in the company.
However, I am saddened to know that It closed a few months later, due to difficulties.
I hope the staff found better lives.

All in all, I really enjoyed being in Vietnam. I had to leave, sadly, but maybe it would be fun to visit other sites linked to the history of this place with Mum and Dad or with friends. Though. Let us focus to other places. Like the ones below.
